Contents
Generation
Tourists will often start with pancakes among their initial stacks of food.[1]
In addition to random generation, general stores, health food stores and delicatessens can sell pancakes.
Description
When eaten, a pancake grants 200 nutrition and takes 2 turns to fully consume. Pancakes are considered "people food" and can be thrown to tame domestic canines and felines; tame carnivores will only eat pancakes if hungry, while tame herbivores will only eat pancakes if starving.
Strategy
The pancake has nutrition/weight ratio of 100, tying it for the second most weight efficient food with the lump of royal jelly; both are incidentally vegetarian-friendly but not vegan-friendly.
History
The pancake first appears in Hack for PDP-11, which is based on Jay Fenlason's Hack, and is included in the initial food list for Hack 1.0.
