Description
Bloodletter has +1d8 to-hit and deals +1d12 bonus damage against monsters with blood - the weapon also gains +1d12 blood damage if the wielder is at anywhere between 1⁄4 and 1⁄2 of their maximum hit points, or +2d12 if they are at less than 1⁄4 of their maximum HP. Bloodletter can be safely enchanted to +10 and is also an insight weapon, gaining extra bonus damage when used by Madpeople.
Invoking Bloodletter "activates" the artifact, dealing damage to the character equal to 1⁄5 of their maximum health and coating it in blood for 20 + 2d10 turns: while coated in blood, Bloodletter grants a flat damage bonus equal to the monster level of a target that it hits; hitting a monster with blood reduces the timer from anywhere between ML⁄10 to (ML⁄10) - 4 turns, and time cannot be added. Invoking or applying a wielded, blood-coated Bloodletter will slam it down, ending the effect and causing a 3x3 explosion of rotten blood centered on the character: the explosion deals 6d6 damage to monsters caught in it, including the character; though there is no full immunity to this attack, monsters without blood are not subject to the level-based bonus damage.
