Celestial dragon scales are a type of cloak that appear in EvilHack and Hack'EM. They are made of dragon hide like all dragon scales.
Reading a scroll of enchant armor and selecting celestial dragon scales while they are worn over body armor creates dragon-scaled armor that is celestial-scaled.
Generation
Celestial dragon scales are not randomly generated, though they can be wished for or found in bones.
A celestial dragon that leaves a corpse behind on death (i.e. always, unless killed by disintegration) has a 1⁄3 chance of leaving behind celestial dragon scales, while a dragon revived by the wand of undead turning or spell of turn undead only has a 1⁄20 chance to leave behind scales. Celestial dragon scales dropped this way are always generated +0 and uncursed.
Description
While worn, celestial dragon scales grant 3 base AC and flying. Reading a scroll of enchant armor while wearing the scales over a suit or armor will turn the suit into celestial dragon-scaled armor and discard any enchantment on the scales, with further effects dependent on the scroll's beatitude: a blessed scroll will bless the body armor and repair any erosion, and a cursed scroll will curse the armor and lower its enchantment by 1. As celestial dragons are not a valid form for polymorph, reading a scroll of enchant armor while wearing the scales with no body armor will polymorph the hero into a blue dragon, with the duration of the transformation dependent on the scroll's beatitude (being longer for a blessed scroll and shorter for a cursed one).
Worn celestial-scaled armor grants 5 more base AC, flying, sleep resistance, shock resistance, and sonic resistance. A hero or monster that polymorphs while wearing celestial dragon scales or celestial-scaled armor will become a blue dragon, and a hero with polymorph control can choose if they want to become a blue dragon or another monster. A hero's celestial-scaled armor is preserved when they revert to their normal form.
