Salamanders don't have a human torso! Where'd that come from? --Mogri 21:50, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- Probably from the salamander picture in the first-edition D&D Monster Manual. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.147.27.79 (talk • contribs)
- I believed salamanders to be as newts or lizards, so at first I thought not that salamanders could have human heads and torsos. Real salamanders are amphibians, as newts are. But monst.c#line2895 says M1_HUMANOID|M1_SLITHY. I jumped into Freenode #nethack and confirmed the existence of humanoid salamanders. Wikipedia:Salamander explains it. --Kernigh 02:02, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
- Wonder why the picture shows a lizardlike lizardthing then. --Mogri 18:22, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
