A chicken is a monster added in SLASH'EM. Feeding it vegan food may tame it.
Strategy
While not a threat in and of itself, chickens share a glyph with the instadeath-causing chickatrice. Players should very careful not to mistake a chickatrice for a chicken, therefore. Note that they both tend to appear in small groups.
