Throw a dog (d), or cat (f) some tripe, a fortune cookie or something else that it will eat, such as a fresh corpse, and it will become tame (your pet).
Wuth exception to tripe or a corpse of your own race, anything a dog will eat is safe for you to eat. Acts of cannibalism, which will not kill you either, isn't taken well by your diety unless you are a caveman. If you eat tripe, you might get sick.
