The garter snake, S, is a variety of snake. Unlike most of their brethren they are not poisonous and are quite harmless on their own; they can prove to be an annoyance in the large groups in which they spawn, especially when their ability to hide under items is taken into account.

Origin

It's a known snake in north America.
