Strategy
The helm of telepathy is a largely superior choice for the ascension kit, as it tells you the identity of the monster rather than just giving a vague idea of its threat level. However, a few dangerous monsters, such as air elementals and green slimes, are mindless and don't show up on telepathy, so warning still has some niche utility in the late game.
