Quaffing a potion of sickness can cause you to lose strength.
Potions of sickness have base cost 50 and can be identified by #dipping a unicorn horn into them --- they turn into fruit juice. You can also #dip darts or arrows into potions of sickness to coat the projectile weapon in poison. Unfortunately, this does not work on daggers.
