'''Beatitude'''?  I have never heard this word in the context of nethack, and the same goes for [[beatification]]. Neither word gives any hits on rgrn, nor in the nethack source! I'd rather _not_ include this redirection, even though beatitude does mean blessedness, as beatitude is simply not used for BUC, afaics, and this word isn't even that common, so it can be confusing. --[[User:Paxed|Paxed]] 06:08, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Beatitude? I have never heard this word in the context of nethack, and the same goes for beatification. Neither word gives any hits on rgrn, nor in the nethack source! I'd rather _not_ include this redirection, even though beatitude does mean blessedness, as beatitude is simply not used for BUC, afaics, and this word isn't even that common, so it can be confusing. --Paxed 06:08, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

I'm responsible for "beatification". I misremembered "beatitude". Anyway, from the history of BUC:

So there's the man responsible. Can't say I entirely disagree with him.--Eidolos 11:34, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
I coined that in a moment of perplexity that the nethack community didn't have a noun to describe an object's BUC status other than "BUC status". If you'd rather not use beatitude (and neologisms are bad for a wiki), then I recommend we agree to use simply "BUC" as the noun instead of "BUC status"; there is some evidence that this usage already exists. --Jayt 12:14, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
