The Forge is a special level that appears in NetHack: The Next Generation and SlashTHEM. It is the home of the Blacksmith, a special monster who can forge selected artifact weapons for you, though the prices are suitably hefty depending on the artifact.
NetHack: The Next Generation
In NetHack: The Next Generation, the Forge has an 80% chance of being generated, and is located between levels 15 and 19 within the Dungeons of Doom.
SlashTHEM
In SlashTHEM, the Forge is located on level 20, and has a 50% chance of being generated.
