The Town is a branch added to UnNetHack. It pays homage to the Town found at the top levels of Angband (and ZAngband). It can be entered from an upstairs from the level below the entrance to Sokoban.
Shopkeepers generated in town start with 1/4 the money of regular shopkeepers. A comment in the source-code notes "Its a poor town"
