Forum:Cursed charging with PYEC?

From NetHackWiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

The article on Charging mentions you cannot use the PYEC for confused charging (gain energy). If it is cursed, can you use it as a cursed Scroll of charging? Also, for the Tourist to use it as blessed, does the card actually have to be blessed, or will an uncursed PYEC give blessed charging to Tourists? Fyr (talk) 04:34, 31 May 2013 (UTC)

Yes, the cursed PYEC will act as a cursed scroll of charging. However, I'm not sure what cursed charging is actually good for. Yes, to get the blessed charging effect, you need to bless the PYEC and be a tourist. --Tjr (talk) 19:20, 31 May 2013 (UTC)

If I read the wiki right, it seems a ring of protection can have any amount of negative enchantment without any chance of being lost, and that if you go far enough it cycles over into high positive enchantment, so you can eat it for ridiculously good naked AC. (Although you might say that's cheating.) You could also negatively enchant a ring of increase damage, for pudding farming or weapon-skill practice.

Are you sure rings don't explode when they become very negative? --Tjr (talk) 05:53, 4 June 2013 (UTC)
Whoops, turns out they do explode. --Fyr (talk) 05:12, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
AFAIK you need to eat a lot of negatively enchanted rings to gain massive negative protection to wrap your AC around. It's not as simple as just negatively enchanting one ring until its enchantment wraps around. Never tried it, though. Kufat (talk) 14:05, 7 June 2013 (UTC)
