A large pseudodragon, D, is a type of monster that appears in dNetHack and notdNetHack. It is a carnivorous and domestic dragon-like creature that is the largest stage of pseudodragon to lack the flight of later stages. Large pseudodragons have a tendency to wander, will pick up gold and gems, and can be seen via infravision.
A large pseudodragon has a bite attack and a breath weapon similar to that of half-dragons.
Generation
Large pseudodragons are not randomly generated. A riding pseudodragon can grow up into a large pseudodragon, and a large pseudodragon can grow up into a winged pseudodragon.
Origin
Pseudodragons originate from Dungeons & Dragons, where they resemble true dragons in appearance but are usually far smaller and far more docile, which makes them suitable as familiars for wizards. They do not usually grow to the sizes shown in dNetHack and notdNetHack, which rivals that of the true dragons in those variants.
