Droven helms are not randomly generated, though they can be wished for or found in bones.

- Giant spiders and cave lizards have a 1⁄20 chance of generating with droven helms fitted to their body shape, while large cave lizards have a 11⁄100 chance of generating with fitted droven helms.
- Dokkalfar eternal matriarchs created in the dungeon or outside the future (i.e. the Anachrononaut or Android quests) are always generated with blessed and erosion-proofed +5 black mithril droven helms.

Description
While worn, a droven helm grants 2 base AC and 4 base DR, and wearing or removing a droven helm takes one action.
As shadowsteel armor, a droven helm may gradually erode during each turn that the wearer spends in lit squares until it is destroyed, with the chance of erosion being significantly reduced if they have a cloak that grants MC3—erosion from light will not occur if the wearer has invisibility, and an erosion-proofed droven helm will gradually self-repair any evaporation from light while the wearer is not invisible and remains in an unlit square.
