A staff of necromancy is a type of weapon that appears in Hack'EM. It is a two-handed spell staff that uses the quarterstaff skill, and replaces the staff of holiness from EvilHack. The staff of necromancy has a default material of bone and appears as a bone-carved staff when unidentified.
The staff of necromancy is the base item for the artifact The Staff of Rot.
Generation
Staves of necromancy make up 1⁄200 (0.5%) of all weapons randomly generated on the ground, in general shops or as death drops. Used armor dealerships and antique weapons outlets can also stock staves of necromancy.
Upgrading a staff of healing successfully will produce a staff of divination.
Description
The staff of necromancy deals 1d6 damage to both small and large monsters. A hero wielding a staff of necromancy gains a flat 50% reduction in the spellcasting failure rate of necromancy spells, which is applied after all other checks besides the check for metallic body armor.
Upgrading a staff of necromancy successfully will produce a staff of healing.
