The Eternal Example is a spirit that appears in dNetHack and notdNetHack.

Ritual, seal and taboo
All info relating to the spirit's ritual requirements and seal are described in this line.
This line contains the conditions which unbind the spirit from you.
Mark
Binding most spirits causes a physical change to the character binding them that freaks out the locals and most importantly may get you barred from shops - describe the changes and any means of hiding them here.
Benefits
While bound, a spirit grants some form of resistance or immunity, along with access to a particular skill.
Their active powers are as follows:
- Exemplarize: List the effects of their active power. If you haven't picked it up at this point, you become aware that this is a fancy form of template I'm using to create articles for the dnh and ndnh spirits, posted here for my convenience.
Their passive powers are as follows:
- Leading by example: Lists the effects of their passive powers.
Strategy
Pluck any relevant tidbits to the spirit that're lying around the wiki and stick 'em here. As much a reminder to me as anyone else.
As a monster
In notdNetHack, spirits also appear as monsters, usually when summoned by an Illithanachronounbinder. They can also appear under other circumstances which constitute spoilers, even by the standards of an already-spoiler-heavy entry!
Just handle these like you would other monster articles.
Generation
Describe where they show up, how they show up, what they generate with, what they drop on death, all that good stuff.
Strategy
Below this point, this is where I put the major spoilers for the Illithanachronounbinder role. They can be accessed by selecting the "Role spoiler" tab.
Okay, so all of the spirits that you killed can be encountered again in the Void - this is a post-Astral Plane branch accessed by opening the high altar of Ilsensine the Fallen as an Illithanachronounbinder, using the invoke effect of The Elder Cerebral Fluid. Most of the second encounters for spirits here are generated with the "whispers" template, which makes them nonliving if they weren't already.
