Thanks! Yes, that was my first ascension. I got lucky with wishes, but I think I could ascend again now that I've done it once. --Mogri 19:09, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

dNethack monsters in wiki format

Here is a gist with all the monsters already in wiki format: https://gist.github.com/Chris-plus-alphanumericgibberish/2c3897261f2b42e71745

Source code with racial quests

The latest version that I've been able to find that still had races as roles is SLASH 6. I don't know if you have source code or not, but if not the Slash 6 page has a link to the Slash 6 sources. The artifacts spoiler I uploaded before is actually a Slash spoiler, as well.

--Chris (talk) 19:01, 22 May 2015 (UTC)

Thanks! I actually have some source code, but it has a bunch of poorly-coded mods that I made in an attempt to make my own variant. But I learned the hard way that it's a lot harder than it looks, which is why I'm just a source diver/retroist these days, and why I find what variant makers like you do so impressive. --Kahran042 (talk) 19:10, 22 May 2015 (UTC)

Old Slash'em artifacts spoiler

I noticed you were created pages for the defunct racial quests. sl-arti.txt details the quest artifacts from those quests, I thought it might be of use to you :)

--Chris (talk) 00:54, 21 May 2015 (UTC)

Thanks! I'll be sure to check it out. --Kahran042 (talk) 01:36, 21 May 2015 (UTC)

Is your Lethe patch page a vanilla or SLASH'EM patch?

Some of the text of the page suggests it may be a SLASH'EM patch - this needs clarifying. See Talk:Gehennom (Lethe patch) --Rogerb-on-NAO 23:12, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

  • It's a patch for vanilla that was modified for SLASH'EM later as SLethe. --Kahran042 23:22, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

gnolls in non-hell area

Gnolls might have the g_hell flag set, but they can still be generated in Throne Rooms, so technically they cannot be limited to only hell areas, no? (was recently killed in a throne room by a gnoll, and have the scars to prove it)

  • Ah. I see. I'm really more into theory than practice, and I guess I never bothered to check that section of the sources. :( --Kahran042 16:29, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

Welcome here, and Kahran042 article

Welcome to the new wiki! I'm glad you're here.

There's a lot of good content on Kahran042 that deserves to be classified properly. Currently, it's just a copy of User:Kahran042 that bides its time as a vanity page. --Tjr 21:06, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

Sorry...I didn't know that my user page had already been transferred over. :-P --Kahran042 13:22, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

Moving racial quests

How would people feel about my moving the racial quest pages out of my namespace? --Kahran042 (talk) 19:00, 17 June 2015 (UTC)

That sounds fine to me, after all, it is wikicontent, and currently is a little hard to find... I'm all for it, if no one else objects Elronnd(talk) 19:02, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
All right, then I'll do it. --Kahran042 (talk) 20:28, 17 June 2015 (UTC)

Implementation of old SLASH roles, as well as your YANI ones

Hi there! The current build of SLASH'EM Extended has your Erdrick and DQ Slime roles in there. Thanks for the ideas! :) Now I'd also like to put the gnome/drow/dwarf/doppelganger/hobbit roles back in there, and I've found the quests for some of them but my copy of the old SLASH source code doesn't seem to have the gnome and hobbit quests... do you have the .des files? I'd like to use them as a base... ;) --Bluescreenofdeath (talk) 08:53, 31 August 2015 (UTC)

Ah, never mind - I found them! http://www.juiblex.co.uk/nethack/fixes/SE059 :D --Bluescreenofdeath (talk) 09:04, 31 August 2015 (UTC)
You're welcome, and thank you for using my ideas. :D --Kahran042 (talk) 09:25, 31 August 2015 (UTC)
I took a look at the Github page, and I noticed that you were using the old versions of the level designs for the Erdrick and DQ Slime. If you're interested, I have some, IMHO, better maps on the pages for them. In particular, one that makes the DQ Slime locate fit its name "The Village of Humbleton" better. --Kahran042 (talk) 21:44, 31 August 2015 (UTC)
Yes; it's still a work in progress, and I'll probably change them. Also, the quest text isn't done yet. I'll check out your pages and update accordingly. Thanks again! :) --Bluescreenofdeath (talk) 05:42, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
You're welcome again. :) --Kahran042 (talk) 07:26, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
Now, if you like, you may test my implementation by playing on the slashem@crash-override.net server - it has an up-to-date installation of SLASH'EM Extended, including the new roles. Sometimes I also watch other people play. --Bluescreenofdeath (talk) 06:30, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

Btw, good job with the pantheons, keep them coming - I'm putting them all in Slash'EM Extended so priests and a few other roles can randomly get them. Just added your new Might and Magic one. :) --Bluescreenofdeath (talk) 09:31, 13 October 2015 (UTC)

Your suggested character in my Let's Play thread

Hi, I'm not sure if you're still following my LP of Slash'EM Extended on rpg.net, but if you do, I now made it to your suggestion in the character queue! So if you want to see how long a Bleeder can survive, check this out: https://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?723346-%28Let-s-Play!%29-Slash-EM-Extended-a-NetHack-fork&p=20112442#post20112442 :) Of course you may suggest a new character once this one dies, and currently I'm having a blast playing him. Highly tense battles and action! --Bluescreenofdeath (talk) 19:08, 23 May 2016 (UTC)

I actually came here right after reading it, but thanks for letting me know. I'm glad Alexei's made it this far. :D --Kahran042 (talk) 02:33, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
