Shadwoblade is an artifact weapon that appears in EvilHack. It is chaotic, and its base item is an athame made of adamantine.
Generation
Shadowblade can only be created by combining Werebane and Stormbringer at a forge - it cannot be wished for, and will revert to its base item if left in a bones file.
Description
Shadowblade has +1d8 to-hit, and deals +1d10 damage and drains a level from monsters without drain resistance as Stormbringer does, though it is not bloodthirsty and will not attack pets and peaceful monsters. Rogues wielding Shadowblade as their primary weapon gain a (XL/2 + 1) bonus to backstab damage with it. Shadowblade is also considered a drow weapon for the purposes of racial to-hit bonuses.
While wielded, Shadowblade also confers stealth, searching, drain resistance, and warns of lycanthropes as Werebane does. Invoking Shadowblade can either cause fear or create an aura of darkness. Attacking near sleeping monsters is significantly less likely to wake them if wielding Shadowblade.
Though it is considered a drow weapon and made of adamantine, Shadowblade will not break if used in lit areas.
Encyclopedia entry
Shrouded in darkness, those that wield Shadowblade can instill
fear into the hearts of those who would dare go against them.
