Talk:Anti-matter vortex (NetHack brass)

I don't have access to an environment that would allow me to compile makedefs.c and run it against unnethack's monst.c. Therefore I did not fill in the monster difficulty. If there is an easier way to figure this out - tell me and I will do it. Otherwise, if another editor would like to get that data I would be supremely appreciative (additionally, I am fairly new at this wiki editing stuff, so I probably made some mistakes. If so, please tell me about them or fix them for me) TheTrueMikeBrown 15:50, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

You could try nhtohtml, although I don't know if it will work with UnNetHack, or if UnNetHack changes the experience/difficulty calculations from Vanilla.
I'd also remove the reference field, since the wiki doesn't have UnNetHack's sourcecode. Right now it's pointing to the end of baby purple worm. -- Qazmlpok 16:18, 23 January 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, that was useful to know. I now have a new problem, though. The guy who uploaded this file: Anti-matter vortex.png did not include a hyphen in the file name. The monster is named Anti-matter vortex. Is there a way to change the file-name of an existing file? (The page I created was not linking to the image correctly because of the name mismatch) TheTrueMikeBrown 17:40, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

Looking at wikia, it appears that renaming an image is not possible for a non sysadmin user. I request that the following image Anti-matter vortex.png be moved to the new name Anti-matter vortex.png. I moved the page to Anti-matter vortex, but to get the image to move, I will need some help TheTrueMikeBrown 17:51, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

Done. --paxed 18:01, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

I just looked at UnNetHack's makedefs.c, and the function that is used to compute monster difficulty seems unchanged from vanilla's. Therefore, I would guess that nhtohtml will give the correct values for UnNetHack. --Erica 02:11, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

Disintegration resistance

Does disintegration resistance protect your stuff at all? If so, how much - does it block active disintegration of armor and body, but not passive disintegration of weapons, or only of your body, or of all three?

Also, does reflectivity have any effect on its disintegration attack, like how reflective armor is never destroyed by the wide-angle disintegration beam (even though you may still be). -Ion frigate 20:11, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

Reflectivity seems not to affect its attacks in any way; disintegration resistance seems to protect you and your armor from the active attack and the passive deadly attack, though it can still passively disintegrate your weapons. (This is the result of a quick wizard mode check; I didn't look at the source.) --Bcode 20:24, 23 January 2012 (UTC)
What about passively disintegrating gloves if you attack barehanded (I'm guessing it does)? It seems that in order to get out of one of these, you need something besides melee: a spell, a wand of opening, something like that. Or, I suppose you could just wait it out, if you're resistant to the disintegration.
Also, are artifacts any more immune to being disintegrated? -Ion frigate 05:25, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
