This is WIP- it will grow BH / MA skill level. Surely the Samurai is #2 choice?--PeterGFin 10:53, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
- Rogues can use daggers better than other roles. Wizards mostly use ranged attacks (spells) even in melee range. --Tjr 20:14, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
Careful versus Abstaining
The page currently tells you not to use certain things, but the only danger is accidental: shouldn't you just be more careful instead? -220.255.1.82 08:16, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
- Humans consistently overestimate their own abilities. --Tjr 21:41, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
- Really, if you only ever move with m, you shouldn't ever hit anything without meaning to: if you still are hitting things, just play slower. 220.255.1.21 16:15, 16 July 2011 (UTC)
- I'm surprised there aren't options in NAO so that the game will prompt you before breaking a conduct. Should the weaponless challenge be about remembering to unwield your pick-axe, or should it be about proving that you can ascend without hitting in melee? Currently, the big challenge is clearly the former. Derekt75 01:11, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
- The same applies to pacifist. I find that I'm just as likely to accidentally kill a monster as die when playing a pacifist game. I'd love a confirmation like when moving into a peaceful, however the dev team is apparently against this.
- How about prompting the player before they break a #conduct?
- No. The whole point of #conduct is that you are avoiding the kinds of actions that lead to violations.
- Personally I think it's dumb, since it'd be trivial to avoid accidentally breaking pacifist if attack wasn't done by moving and much easier to tell if you're wielding a pickaxe if your character wasn't just an @. -- Qazmlpok 01:39, 11 January 2012 (UTC)

- The level of difficulty should stay comparable with local DevTeam-compiled games, and any interface improvements would interfere with that goal.
- No, they won't: what they will do is make it less troublesome, but that's a different thing altogether. 220.255.2.47 15:45, 23 January 2012 (UTC)
- Maybe a conduct prompt patch could be added that writes a note in the xlogfile when you activate it. In any case, interhack, key rebindings via Screen, and cream pies already give you most such functionality. --Tjr 02:35, 11 January 2012 (UTC)

Pounding and Weaponless "Hit"
Is pounding with a polearm considered hitting for the sake of Weaponless conduct? I feel this should be mentioned in the article since pounding is a special case when dealing with certain monsters.โโ๐ข๐๐ ๐ฝ๐พ๐ถ ๐๐ถ๐๐๐๐ (talk) 16:07, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
