A tiny pseudodragon:
|
A tiny pseudodragon, D, is a type of monster that appears in dNetHack and notdNetHack. It is a carnivorous and domestic dragon-like creature that is the most basic stage of pseudodragon. Tiny pseudodragons have a tendency to wander, will pick up gold and gems, and can be seen via infravision.
A tiny pseudodragon has a bite attack and a weak breath weapon similar to that of half-dragons.
Generation
Tiny pseudodragons are not randomly generated. A tiny pseudodragon can grow up into a pseudodragon.
All half-dragon characters in roles other than the Anachrononaut, Convict, Knight, Madperson, and Noble start the game with a tiny pseudodragon.
Origin
Pseudodragons originate from Dungeons & Dragons, where they resemble true dragons in appearance but are usually far smaller and far more docile, which makes them suitable as familiars for wizards. They do not usually grow to the sizes shown in dNetHack and notdNetHack, which rivals that of the true dragons in those variants.
