In dNetHack, Archons are a group of related monsters, the most common type of lawful angel. The vanilla Archon is known as a Throne Archon in dNetHack. As with most other angelic monsters, Archons will only be generated in the Planes.

Justice Archon

Sword Archon

Shield Archon

Trumpet Archon

Trumpet Archons are summoners, and should therefore be a high-priority target.

Warden Archon

Throne Archon

Throne Archons will cast the summon angel or lightning bolt spells 50% of the time.

Light Archon

The Light Archons' volleys of silver arrows make them particularly dangerous to Vampire characters.

Iasoian Archon

Iasoian Archons use their star blades automatically, like Coure Eladrin, with a chance of attacking each adjacent monster every turn. They are skipped in their main attack sequence. Although they are not randomly generated, there is a statue of one on the Healer quest. It will revive tame and loyal, but will have the plague and be unable to move until cured.

Iasoian Archons will lifesave any allied monsters (monsters of the same tame/peaceful/hostile status) on the level, as well as the player if tame. Lifesaving a monster increases mspec_used by the lifesaved monster's max HP. Lifesaving the player will cancel the Iasoian Archon.

Panakeian Archon

Panakeian Archons cast recover, mass cure far, paralyze, mass cure close, sleep, destroy armor, destroy weapon, make web, and cure self. Although they are not randomly generated, there is a statue of one on the Healer quest. It will revive tame and loyal, but will have the plague and be unable to move until cured.

Hygieian Archon

Hygieian Archons cast death touch, lightning, geyser, acid rain, cure self, and fire pillar. Although they are not randomly generated, there is a statue of one on the Healer quest. It will revive tame and loyal, but will have the plague and be unable to move until cured.
