The barbarian is one of the player classes in NetHack. Barbarians can be either neutral or chaotic, and can be either humans or orcs.

Barbarians start out with poison resistance, and are excellent melee fighters, so they are one of the easier classes for a new player.

Barbarians receive Cleaver as their first sacrifice gift.

Barbarian's special spell is haste self
