An eyeball is a type of meaty comestible that appears in SLASH'EM, EvilHack, SlashTHEM, and Hack'EM.

The eyeball is the base item for two artifacts: the Eye of the Beholder and the Eye of Vecna.

Generation

Eyeballs are not randomly generated, though they can be wished for and found in bones containing the Eye of the Beholder or Eye of Vecna.

Description

In SLASH'EM and SlashTHEM, eating an eyeball confers 10 nutrition and takes one turn; attempting to do so will produce a warning prompt asking if you are sure you want to.[1]

In EvilHack and Hack'EM, it instead confers 5 nutrition.

Strategy

Regular eyeballs are not of much use as food due to their minimal nutrition, though eating them does not inflict severe damage as ingesting the artifact eyeballs would (despite the warning prompt still occurring when you do so). Their rarity may make them enticing keepsakes for certain players.
