This page lists all the monsters that are not present in the vanilla NetHack but are found in SpliceHack. Some of these monsters might vary from their representations in other variants. The notes section includes any abilities that might be particularly surprising or difficult to uncover in game.

Note that most of this information can be obtained about any creature in SpliceHack by farlooking it and pressing :. This is the recommended method of looking up information about monsters, as this wiki will not necessarily be up to date.

amalgamation Q 10 Claw 1d8, claw 1d8 The default attacks for amalgamations are almost always overwritten. Instead, amalgamations use a combination of attacks from two creatures chosen on spawn. The amalgamation is named after these two creatures. In order to avoid death (such as through a half floating eye / half leocrotta), using farlook on amalgamations is essential.
bad clone Q 20 Weapon 2d8, claw 1d8 As amalgamation, but capable of using items, and attacks are combined using a different, much nastier formula.

Arms Dealer @ 25 Weapon 4d10 Due to changes in how shopkeepers work, this monster was necessary for porting the Black Market to 3.6.0. One-Eyed Sam is the only arms dealer encountered.
master of cats @ 14 Weapon 2d4, claw 2d4, bite 1d10 Unique, generated very rarely. Has 9 lives, and only dies upon all of them being taken. Each time he is killed he loses a life, gets slightly stronger, and levelports.
spectre 10 Weapon 1d10 Arises from the bones of high level players instead of a ghost.
dust devil & 6 Claw 1d6 blind, claw 1d4 blind, engulf 2d6 Appears only in Gehennom.
damned pirate & 10 Weapon 2d6 From the pirate patch. Not randomly generated.

headless horseman & 14 Weapon 1d8, weapon 1d8 Appears only in Gehennom. Spawns riding a nightmare.
Buer & 52 Bite 4d6, claw 2d6, claw 2d6, claw 2d6, claw 2d6, claw 2d6 Not randomly generated, demon prince.
Malcanthet & 80 Gaze 4d6 blind, weapon 2d6, claw 2d6, claw 0d0 demonic seduction. Not randomly generated, demon lord. Has teleport control, so will not teleport away after seduction. Can seduce characters regardless of gender, and has a higher chance of draining levels.
Mephisto & 105 Butt 4d4, magic 4d4 fire, claw 2d4 Not randomly generated, demon lord. When attacking in melee with fire, fire resistance only prevents half the damage. Has potentially one of the highest damage outputs in the game.
King in Yellow & 118 Magic 6d10 clerical, tentacle 12d2 decay, tentacle 12d2 decay, tentacle 12d2 paralyze, tentacle 12d2 disease, tentacle 12d2 curse attribute Not randomly generated. Horribly unfair bonus boss that can only be summoned by reading or invoking a spellbook of finger of death that has been named "The King in Yellow"
Grim Reaper & 30 Weapon 8d10, touch 8d10 death See Death. Not randomly generated, can only appear due to drawing from a deck of fate.
