A plain dress is a type of shirt that appears in dNetHack and notdNetHack. Its base material is cloth, and it appears as a dress when unidentified.
Generation
Plain dresses are not randomly generated.
Killer bees generated on the Lawful Quest have a 1⁄3 chance of being generated with a plain dress if they do not generate with body armor.
Witches, apprentice witches and the coven leader are always generated with a plain dress.
Description
When worn, a plain dress grants 0 AC and 0 DR as well as MC2. A plain dress also grants a +1 bonus to charisma while worn, with an additional enchantment-based bonus if you are not wearing body armor over it.
