A rubber hose is a rarely-seen weapon that appears in Nethack. It uses the whip skill.
Generation
It is never randomly generated, and is only seen carried by Keystone Kops.
Effect
The rubberhose does much more damage than the bullwhip against both small and large monsters, and its damage is not negated against thick-skinned monsters; unlike the bullwhip, it can not be applied for special effects.
Strategy
The rubber hose is not particularly useful as a weapon, and since it lacks even the bullwhip's other utilities (e.g. disarming monsters), it will mostly be considered polyfodder if not outright junk.
