Talk:SpliceHack-Rewrite

There seems to be an assumption in this page that this rewrite will automatically supplant the final version of SpliceHack, particularly the idea that pages for SpliceHack-specific features not included in this rewrite will need to be deleted. Kufat (talk) 02:50, 2 April 2024 (UTC)

I do not think articles about old SpliceHack features need to be deleted, instead the features can be described as "defunct". Many SpliceHack pages have already been updated in this way and we even have a list of defunct SpliceHack features. --Aximili (talk) 19:02, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
I think that makes sense. :) Kufat (talk) 03:58, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
Never minding that deletion would be an incredibly silly approach on its face, this assumption isn't really borne out in the text - it's primarily relevant for players who got used to the older versions of Splice, far as it ever read to me. --Umbire the Phantom (talk) 04:01, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
I was referring specifically to:
Many SpliceHack wiki pages may need to be replaced, overhauled, or deleted when the Rewrite is ready.
on the page. (Emphasis added.) Kufat (talk) 04:08, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
Noted, and reiterating that I consider that approach to be nonsense. We've had pages for historical features of vanilla and more than a few variants - no real reason to arbitrarily change course. --Umbire the Phantom (talk) 04:22, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
