Generation
A club randomly generated on the ground or as a death drop has a base 1⁄20 chance of being made into an artifact, which will always be Keolewa if it has not yet been generated. Keolewa is the guaranteed first sacrifice gift for Cavepeople, and neutral heroes can receive Keolewa as a sacrifice gift.
Description
Keolewa grants a +1d5 bonus to-hit and a +1d6 bonus to damage versus all monsters, and grants shock resistance when wielded.
Origin
Keolewa is a Hawaiian word that appears in a variety of prayers, chants and oral traditions, including once as the name of the morning star.
The artifact as it appears in SporkHack and EvilHack is most likely inspired by the weapon of Paopele, a great warrior that appears in the Legend of Kapunohu. According to tradition, the club Keolewa is so great that "it extends over a whole district in length, reaches up to the clouds of heaven, and takes four thousand men to carry".[1] Keolewa could also hide the sun and hold back the east wind.
