A lesser homunculus, i, is a type of monster that appears in EvilHack and Hack'EM. The lesser homunculus is a type of minor demon that is nearly identical to the homunculus of NetHack, with the same traits: flight, infravision, infra-visibility, and the ability to follow a hero to other levels when adjacent to them. In Hack'EM, they are also carnivores similar to the homunculus of xNetHack.
A lesser homunculus has a sleep-inducing bite, and possesses sleep resistance and poison resistance along with a weakness to silver.
A lesser homunculus corpse is poisonous to eat, and eating a lesser homunculus corpse or tin grants 1⁄15 each (+6%) of additional poison resistance and sleep resistance.
Generation
Randomly-generated lesser homunculi may be generated as peaceful towards chaotic heroes and Infidels. A lesser homunculus can grow up into a homunculus.
Infidels start the game with a tame lesser homunculus, unless they are a drow Infidel in EvilHack.
Lesser homunculi appear among the random i that are part of the first quest monster class for Knights and make up 24⁄175 of the monsters that are randomly generated on the Knight quest. They also appear among the random i that are generated on each floor of the Wizard quest at level creation. In Hack'EM, lesser homunculi also appear among the random i that are part of the second quest monster class for Necromancers and make up 6⁄175 of the monsters randomly generated on the Necromancer quest.
