Mappable
In NetHack, a dungeon level is mappable if it allows the hero to use a scroll of magic mapping or the magic mapping spell to reveal the level's layout.

Non-mappable levels
The following levels cannot have their layout revealed by magic mapping of any kind, which is designated by the "nommap" variable for that floor map in the level's file:
Attempting magic mapping on a non-mappable level confuses the hero for up to 30 more turns.[1]
Strategy
Levels that block mapping can impede heroes looking to quickly navigate them, though non-mappable levels thankfully do not suppress clairvoyance.
