A silver short sword is a weapon that appears in SLASH'EM, SlashTHEM and SporkHack. It is a one-handed melee weapon that uses the short sword skill.
In SLASH'EM and SlashTHEM, the silver short sword is the base item for the artifact Sword of Balance[1]

Generation
In SLASH'EM and SlashTHEM, silver short swords are fairly uncommon and make up 0.2% of all randomly-generated weapons created on the floor, as death drops or in shops.[2] In SporkHack, silver short swords make up 0.6% of all randomly-generated weapons.
General stores, used armor dealerships and antique weapon outlets can stock silver short swords.
Description
The silver short sword has the same base damage as an ordinary short sword, but it is made of silver and thus erosion-proof, in addition to doing extra damage against silver-hating monsters and being somewhat heavier.
Strategy
In SporkHack, the silver short sword a useful primary weapon for Tourists, and a solid offhand weapon for Valkyries, Knights and other roles limited to Skilled in two-weapon fighting. In SLASH'EM, it is also a decent offhand weapon (particularly for those who cannot effectively use silver sabers), but most heroes will prefer to wield an artifact in their offhand (which is permitted in SLASH'EM).
