A staff of escape is a type of weapon that appears in SporkHack. It is a two-handed spell staff that uses the quarterstaff skill. The staff of escape is made of wood and appears as a "staff" when unidentified, an appearance that it shares with the quarterstaff and the other spell staves.
Generation
Staves of escape make up 1⁄200 (0.5%) of all weapons randomly generated on the ground, in general shops or as death drops. Used armor dealerships and antique weapons outlets can also stock staves of escape.
Description
The staff of escape deals 1d6 damage to both small and large monsters. A hero wielding a staff of escape gains a flat 50% reduction in the spellcasting failure rate of escape spells, which is applied after all other checks besides the check for metallic body armor.
