Template:Variant-343
This template places a small icon in the top right corner of an article to indicate that it contains information about a variant of NetHack 3.4.3. It is unlikely that this page will need to be updated when future versions of NetHack are released.. See NetHackWiki:Next version for more information. This template should be placed at the bottom of the article.
If this is one of multiple top icons on a single page, specify an offset like this:
{{slashem-7E7}}
{{nethack-366|offset=1}}
so that the tags do not appear on top of each other.
This template should not be used for SLASH'EM-related articles. Use Template:slashem-7E7 for SLASH'EM.
This template should only be used for variants still under active development. Use Template:variant-noversion for defunct variants.
The original purpose of this template was to flag variant feature pages that might require revision when a post-3.4.3 version was released, expecting that variants would re-base on that new version. With the release of NetHack 3.6.0 in 2015, very few of the 3.4.3 variants that are still actively maintained have shown signs of wanting to rebase during their continued development, with UnNetHack being one notable exception. This template has therefore been superseded by Template:variant-noversion for that purpose, but is still supported on pages about 3.4.3 variant features; there is no particular impetus to start switching the thousands of pages that currently use this template over to that one.
