Vampiric (damage type)

Vampiric is a damage type that appears in dNetHack, notdNetHack and notnotdNetHack and uses the flag AD_VAMP. Attacks that inflict vampiric damage drain blood from the victim to increase the attacker's nutrition, and subjects the target to level drain unless they have drain resistance. Though vampiric attacks behave similarly to other attacks that drain life from the target, they do not check magic cancellation.
