An acid hound, d, is a type of monster that appears in SlashTHEM. The acid hound is a medium-sized, strong and carnivorous canine animal that has an affinity to acid like its pups.
An acid hound has a bite attack, as well as an acidic breath weapon which can corrode the worn outer armor and wielded weapon(s) of a hero or monster that it hits (unless they have reflection). Acid hounds possess acid resistance.
Eating an acid hound corpse or tin has a chance of granting acid resistance.
Generation
Randomly generated acid hounds are always created hostile. An acid hound pup can grow up into an acid hound.
Acid hounds appear among the random d that are part of the first quest monster class for Samurai and make up 24⁄175 of the monsters randomly generated on the Samurai quest. They also appear among the random d that are part of the first quest monster class for Ninjas and make up 24⁄175 of the monsters randomly generated on the Ninja quest.
