A kidney belt is a type of non-magical belt that appears in dNetHack, notdNetHack and notnotdNetHack. It has a randomized appearance when unidentified, and its base material depends on that appearance—the default one associated with it is a "wide belt", which is made of leather.
Generation
The kidney belt makes up roughly 1⁄6 of all belts that are randomly generated.
Description
A worn kidney belt behaves as a piece of armor: a hero that puts on a kidney belt gains 1 base AC, 1 base DR and MC1, and the belt can be enchanted by a scroll of enchant armor or other similar magical effects like normal armor—this includes being an eligible target for other armor-based effects, such as the scroll of destroy armor.
