- This article is about the artifact in UnNetHack and EvilHack. For the Convict patch artifact and other versions, see Luckblade.
Luck Blade is an artifact weapon that appears in UnNetHack and EvilHack as part of the integrated Convict patch. It is chaotic-aligned, and its base item is a broadsword. In EvilHack, Luck Blade is made of steel instead of the default iron.
Generation
A randomly-generated broadsword has a 1⁄20 chance of being created as Luck Blade. It is the first guaranteed sacrifice gift for Convicts, and chaotic characters may receive Luck Blade as a sacrifice gift.
Description
Luck Blade has +1d5 to-hit and deals +1d6 damage versus all monsters. While carried, it functions as a luckstone of the same beatitude.
Strategy
Luck Blade is a decently worthwhile early gift for Convicts, and remains a decent option for twoweaponing into the midgame - even once a Convict or other character finds a better weapon, Luck Blade may still work as a backup weapon and luck item, though it is heavier than a standard luckstone.
