A winged pseudodragon:
| |
A winged pseudodragon, D, is a type of monster that appears in dNetHack, notdNetHack and notnotdNetHack. The winged pseudodragon is a carnivorous and domestic dragon-like creature that is the first stage of pseudodragon to be capable of flight (as its name indicates). Winged pseudodragons have a tendency to wander while moving, will pick up gold and gems, and can be seen via infravision.
A winged pseudodragon has a bite attack, two claw attacks, and a breath weapon that is similar to the one used by half-dragons.
Generation
Winged pseudodragons are not randomly generated. A large pseudodragon can grow up into a winged pseudodragon, and a winged pseudodragon can grow up into a huge pseudodragon.
Origin
Pseudodragons originate from Dungeons & Dragons, where they resemble true dragons in appearance but are usually far smaller and far more docile, which makes them suitable as familiars for wizards. They do not usually grow to the sizes shown in dNetHack and its derivatives, which rivals that of the true dragons in those variants.
