Bronze plate mail is a type of body armor that appears in NetHack. It is made of copper.
Generation
In addition to random generation, general stores and armor shops can stock bronze plate mail.
Player monster barbarians, knights, priests, and valkyries have an effective 5⁄124 chance (roughly ~4.03%) of forcing bronze plate mail in place of their initial body armor.[1][2][3][4]
Description
While worn, bronze plate mail provides 6 base AC and MC1.
Strategy
Bronze plate mail offers 1 less AC and a lower level of magic cancellation than standard plate mail for the same amount of weight, with its only advantage being immunity to erosion by rust (but not corrosion).
History
Bronze plate mail first appears in NetHack 1.3d. From this version to NetHack 3.4.3, including some variants based on those versions, bronze plate mail does not offer any magic cancellation.
Variants
In variants with object materials systems, bronze plate mail may be removed, with plate mail made of copper providing much of the same characteristics, if not slightly improved.
SLASH'EM
In SLASH'EM, bronze plate mail does not confer any magic cancellation.
