Gauntlets of power, often abbreviated to GoP, are gloves that increase your strength to 25, regardless of enchantment. This will allow you to throw Mjollnir, if you have it. Gauntlets of power are metal and thus interfere with spellcasting, but this allows them to be distinguished from other gloves using an unidentified touchstone, as it will make a "scritch, scritch" noise. They also give a -2 penalty to hit with bows.
SLASH'EM
In SLASH'EM, gauntlets of power do not automatically raise your strength to 25. Instead, they raise or lower your strength by an amount dependent on the glove's enchantment much like gauntlets of dexterity do. Only Valkyries have a good chance of enchanting gauntlets of power up to a sufficient level to gain the 25 strength needed to throw Mjollnir.
