A ladder is a dungeon feature which acts exactly like a staircase, except these only appear in Vlad's Tower and the Wizard's Tower. It is represented by > or <, for a down ladder or up ladder, respectively. The differences between a ladder and a stairway, that objects dropped on a ladder are more likely to fall down, and that you receive a message when climbing ladders. Some patches display branches as ladders instead of stairways to make them more standing out.
