Lord Sato, @, is the Samurai quest leader.

Strategy

The following information pertains to an upcoming version (NetHack 3.7.0). If this version is now released, please verify that it is still accurate, then update the page to incorporate this information.

Lord Sato, along with other quest leaders, has been made significantly stronger, since killing quest leaders no longer makes the game unwinnable.

The changed stats are as follows: Speed becomes 15 (from 12); MR becomes 90 (from 30); and his two weapon attacks both become 4d10 (from 1d8 and 1d6 respectively).

Lord Sato also starts with a +5 splint mail and a +4 katana.

Lord Sato was the family head of the Taro Clan, and a mighty
daimyo. He is a loyal servant of the Emperor, and will do
everything in his power to further the imperial cause.
