Oviparous monsters are creatures which lay eggs. If the player is polymorphed into a female oviparous monster, the #sit command can be used to lay an egg, which will hatch into a tame monster. In addition, some randomly-generated eggs are the eggs of oviparous monsters.
List of oviparous monsters
The following monsters are oviparous:
- all cswDNS
- all a except giant beetles
- all adult D dragons except the Chromatic Dragon and Ixoth
- all ; sea monsters except jellyfish and krakens
- g gargoyles and g winged gargoyles
- : crocodiles
- "Baby" and "hatchling" monsters are never oviparous, even if their adult forms are.
- s Scorpius is defined as oviparous, but is unique, always male, and not a valid polymorph form, so his oviparous status is generally irrelevant. A Scorpius egg is never generated, and wishing for one will produce a scorpion egg instead.
