Nagas, N, are a class of monsters who have the head of a human and the body of a snake. The class consists of the following monsters and their hatchling forms:

Common traits

Nagas are considered kebabable - you receive a +2 to-hit bonus when attacking them with a weapon that uses the spear skill.

Hatchlings

Naga hatchlings are neutral-aligned and do not randomly generate outside of certain branches with a neutral "bias" such as the Oracle and Sokoban. The hatchlings do not have any devastating attacks and are mostly harmless.

The red naga hatchling is infravisible, and is the only naga with less than a 15 chance of conveying poison resistance from eating their corpse or tinned meat. They instead have a 10% chance each to convey either poison resistance or fire resistance.

Adult nagas

Be careful not to fight red nagas over ice.
