A whirly monster is one of the following:[1]
- v fog cloud
- v dust vortex
- v ice vortex
- v energy vortex
- v steam vortex
- v fire vortex
- E air elemental
All whirlies have an engulfing attack. Applying a stethoscope inside a whirly monster may fail.[2] Whirly monsters can pass unharmed through spider webs,[3][4] bear traps,[5][6] and iron bars.[7] You cannot be punished while whirly.[8][9]
Whirly monsters may be generated on the Plane of Air.[10]
