Graphical user interface
As well as the standard ASCII interface, many official and unofficial graphical user interfaces are available for NetHack, some of which are given a visual showcase below.
A user has suggested improving this page or section as follows:
"There are many, many more window ports to document, with appropriate screenshots - some are additionally outdated."

Browser-accessible GUI
The following graphical user interfaces are designed to be browser-compatible.
NAO
The nethack.alt.org public server has [https://www.alt.org/nethack/hterm/ a web-based terminal emulator with tileset options and the ability to use different fonts (Hack, Inconsolata, DejaVu Sans Mono, Square).
BrowserHack

BrowserHack is a direct port of NetHack to web browsers, featuring tiles that link to the corresponding articles on this wiki and can be accessed by holding SHIFT when clicking them. BrowserHack can be played on Wang Lu's homepage and the source code is on coolwanglu’s GitHub.
Front-ends for public servers
These are clients that play NetHack on a networked gameserver such as nethack.alt.org which runs dgamelaunch over ssh
EbonHack

EbonHack is a graphical telnet frontend for NetHack that can connect to nethack.alt.org over telnet.
NetHack Tiles Client

NetHack Tiles Client is an open-source client for nethack.alt.org and Hardfought which uses vt_tiledata to display tiles. Compatible with NetHack 5.0.0 and as builds for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
List of deprecated front-ends
The following browser-based front-ends are currently offline or otherwise non-functional, and will be listed above as soon as possible if they come back online.
Webhack
webhack.webhook.org] is a browser-based graphical front-end for NAO that can be viewed through the provided link to the Wayback Machine—the site currently hangs indefinitely after hitting c to connect. It uses the DawnHack tileset if the vt_tiledata option is enabled, and otherwise uses standard ASCII.
un.nethack.nu
un.nethack.nu/wstty is a browser-based front-end for playing UnNetHack, and offers variant-specific versions of three tilesets in DawnHack, geoduck and unchozo32b. The front-end is improperly configured, and attempts to connect directly to un.nethack.nu rather than either us.un.nethack.nu or eu.un.nethack.nu—the section will be updated when this error is corrected.
nethack.xd.cm/wstty
The ascension.run public server (formerly nethack.xd.cm and nethack.dank.ninja) hosted a web terminal that allows tiles if the vt_tiledata option is enabled until the server closed in 2021.
