Hallucination resistance
Hallucination resistance is a rare resistance property that occurs in NetHack, and protects against the hallucination status property.
Wielding Grayswandir is the only available source of hallucination resistance.

Gold dragon scales and gold dragon scale mail provide hallucination resistance when worn.Description
Unlike most other resistances, possessing a source of hallucination resistance does not actually stop the hallucination from occurring - rather, it takes effect as normal, but is completely suppressed while you possess that resistance. If the resistance property is removed for any reason (i.e., you stopped wielding Grayswandir), hallucination resumes as normal with the standard message accompanying it.

- Your hallucination wore off while you had a source of hallucination resistance.

In SLASH'EM, Mirrorbright is an artifact shield of reflection that confers hallucination resistance while worn.

In SlashTHEM, the following artifacts provide hallucination resistance in addition to Grayswandir:
- Mirrorbright, while worn
- Snakeskin, while worn
- Musa-Shiya, while worn
- Fungisword, while wielded
- The Cudgel of Cuthbert, while wielded
- The Gourd of Infinity, while carried
