The Hand-Mirror of Cthylla is an artifact that appears in dNetHack, notdNetHack and notnotdNetHack. It is unaligned, and its base item is a mirror.
Generation
The Hand-Mirror of Cthylla is not randomly generated and cannot be wished for, though it can be left in bones.
The Hand-Mirror of Cthylla is generated on the lowest floor of the Neutral Quest at level creation, where it replaces The Silver Key for a Binder: the artifact is randomly placed within one of the temple complexes in R'lyeh.
Description
While carried, The Hand-Mirror of Cthylla grants polymorph control, teleport control, magic resistance, automatic searching, and faster energy regeneration, and invoking The Hand-Mirror of Cthylla or applying it while its invocation timer is not on cooldown will deal 15d15 damage to a monster that sees its reflection in the mirror, including the hero themselves. If applied while the cooldown is still active, it behaves as a normal mirror.
Carrying the Hand-Mirror of Cthylla in open inventory bypasses the restriction on level teleporting within Quest branches that limits the hero to one level above or below their current level.
